Itinerary

We will pick you up in Cusco, and then embark on our journey towards the Sacred Valley, where our retreat place is located. We will have some time to get to know this beautiful retreat place in the Andes Mountains. We will then meet our esteemed Andean Maestro from the Q’eros community and our Shipibo Master for the Ayahuasca medicine. We will start our spiritual journey with a Coca Leaf reading ceremony, a special ritual that gives us spiritual guidance, helping to navigate our emotions, make decisions, and find clarity in various aspects of life.

In the afternoon, you will have some free time to prepare for your first Ayahuasca session. Our Shipibo master will provide an introduction to the plant medicine, explaining what to expect during the session. Following this, we will consume the Ayahuasca brew. The ceremony itself will last approximately 4 to 6 hours. The intention of our first Ayahuasca session is cleansing and forgiveness. It is also to get to know the plant, so we can work with the medicine on a more profound level next time. After the ceremony, we will rest.

We will start the day with a tasty breakfast full of different fruits. Then, we will have integration conversations with our guide and shaman, and get help understanding the visions we have had, making our connection with Ayahuasca stronger.

Later, we will participate in cleansing and flourishing ceremonies led by our Andean shaman. These ceremonies are intended to help us forgive ourselves and release all negative energy. Before the Ayahuasca ceremony, we will calm our minds with a peaceful meditation. As night comes, we will gather in the ceremony room for the second Ayahuasca session, continuing the powerful experience from the night before. The focus of this ceremony is to fully receive the medicine’s wisdom and heal our internal wounds, working on a deeper level. Our experienced team will be there to guide us through this meaningful journey.

After breakfast, we will explore the hidden treasures of the valley and take our private transportation to the local community of Soqma. From there, we will start a 45-minute hike to the incredible waterfall of Perolniyoq. Lost amid lush vegetation, this waterfall is considered an unknown jewel of Mother Nature, and we will likely have the opportunity to discover it without any tourists. Following our visit to the waterfall, we will ascend for 45 minutes to the archaeological site of Raqaypata, a sacred site offering breathtaking mountain views. After a relaxing break and enjoying our picnic lunch with incredible panoramic views, we will perform a mindful meditation ceremony with our Andean shaman, and then take the same route back and drive to our retreat center.

Once back at the retreat center, we will have some time to relax before enjoying an evening sound healing session featuring various sounds and instruments.

After breakfast and another integration session with our shaman and guide, we will have a yoga session at our retreat center, followed by a group picnic with organic fruits and snacks in line with our diet.

Before the Ayahuasca ceremony, we will participate in a group meditation to cultivate the right mindset for our final round of Ayahuasca. As night falls, we will gather in the ceremony room for our last Ayahuasca session, focused on gratitude. This ceremony will be an opportunity to give back, become aware of all we have, and express our thanks.

We enjoy a delightful breakfast with a variety of fruits. Later, we will have a final meeting with our Ayahuasca Shaman, where we engage in an integration ceremony. We then participate in a heartfelt offering ceremony led by the Q’eros Master to express gratitude to Mother Earth, taking some time to connect before we take our transportation back to Cusco.

FAQ about Ayahuasca

Ayahuasca is a traditional Amazonian brew celebrated for its profound healing properties. Crafted from the Psychotria viridis plant and the Banisteriopsis caapi vine, it has been a centerpiece in indigenous rituals for ages. In guided ceremonies, Ayahuasca is believed to open pathways to self-discovery, offering insights and emotional healing. Its growing popularity in organized retreats reflects a quest for personal growth and therapeutic benefits.

Your well-being is really important to us, and we have a dedicated medical team to make sure you’re taken care of. The experience gets even more special with the traditional music, icaros, played by Amazonian shamans.

We also include Andean ceremonies like reading coca leaves and expressing gratitude to create a caring and special space for your spiritual journey. Our aim is to help you grow personally and find healing in a supportive and sacred environment.

Yes. Ayahuasca is safe when experienced facilitators, like ours, guide the journey, ensuring it’s secure and transformative. If you have specific health concerns, our detailed medical form helps us customize the experience just for you.

Absolutely, if you have medical conditions like heart issues or psychiatric disorders, it’s important to be cautious. Some medications might not mix well with Ayahuasca. That’s why we ask everyone to fill out our medical form. We’ll make sure to clear up any doubts or questions before you decide to join—no need to stress! Just reach out to us, and we’ll be glad to help, along with our medical team.

It’s really important to be in Cusco at least three days before the retreat begins. This gives your body time to adjust to the high altitude. If you arrive on the day of the retreat, unfortunately, you won’t be able to join the Ayahuasca ceremony. Safety is our top priority, and arriving on the same day as the retreat could increase the risk of altitude sickness, especially when combined with Ayahuasca.

Your well-being is a priority, so it’s a good idea to ensure you’re in good health. We suggest talking to your doctor if you have any concerns about your medical history or conditions. Also, please let us know about any health conditions or medications before you book.

The food guidelines are in place to ensure your body and mind are prepared for the Ayahuasca experience, making it safe and meaningful for you. Two weeks before the retreat, avoid pork, alcohol, cannabis, drugs, and spicy foods. Also, refrain from taking any prescribed medicines or drugs during this time, as Ayahuasca is potent and can interact differently with other substances.

One week before the retreat, it’s recommended to steer clear of red meat, junk food, sweets, soda, dairy, pickled foods, and caffeine. Just before the retreat, eat well without extreme dieting, staying in good shape and feeling good. In the last three days, consider reducing salt, pepper, and oil intake.

Opt for organic food with a touch of salt and sugar, and if you desire meat, choose chicken or fish.

The first Ayahuasca ceremony is scheduled for the evening, so it’s advised to enjoy a light breakfast adhering to the diet restrictions before we pick you up. Stay hydrated throughout the day with water and tea, but it’s advisable to avoid consuming anything else. This preparation ensures you’re well-prepared for a positive and enriching experience!

To enrich your spiritual preparation, we encourage you to set a clear intention. The Ayahuasca ceremony can be intense, and having a specific purpose acts as a guiding force, keeping you connected to your goals. Take time to reflect on why you are drawn to Ayahuasca. What do you hope to learn or understand? Consider your current life situation and challenges. Crafting intentions based on these reflections can add personal depth to your experience.

Nurturing your spirit and mind involves engaging in practices that deepen your connection with your inner self. Participate in mindful activities that promote awareness and presence before the retreat begins.

Additionally, some shamans recommend refraining from sexual activities, including masturbation. This practice is believed to help conserve physical energy, making it easier to navigate the effects of Ayahuasca during the ceremony.

The purge, which may involve vomiting or diarrhea, is seen in some traditions as a purifying process, releasing physical and emotional toxins. It’s regarded as a natural and sometimes necessary part of the Ayahuasca experience.

Ayahuasca is not known to be physically addictive. In fact, many participants report reduced cravings for substances like alcohol or tobacco after an Ayahuasca experience. However, it is crucial to approach it with respect and responsibility.

Yes, Ayahuasca is legal in Peru. It is recognized as cultural heritage and respected as traditional medicine.
