Spiritual Huchuy Qosqo Trek with San Pedro Healing Ceremony (3 Days)

Swift Andean Escape with Spiritual Insights and Plant Medicine

Overview

Explore the hidden gem of Huchuy Qosqo ruins—an ideal hike for those craving a quick escape into the Andean wilderness. Immerse yourself in Andean spirituality, partake in a ceremonial gratitude offering led by a shaman, and experience the transformational benefits of the plant medicine San Pedro (Wachuma).

Itinerary

In the early morning, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and embark on a one-hour drive to the local community of Taucca in the Sacred Valley. Our hiking adventure kicks off with an ancestral ceremony led by our Andean Shaman—a reflective moment to express gratitude to the spirits, ourselves, and set intentions for the trek ahead. The three-hour ascent takes us to the trek’s highest point, providing opportunities to marvel at several lagoons with breathtaking views. At the mountain pass, relish incredible vistas of snow-capped mountains and the Sacred Valley.

Descending, we arrive at the village of Pucamarca, where we explore the ancient Inca ruins of Patabamba. Following the original Inca trail, we reach the archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo (3650m / 11,975 ft), meaning “Little Cusco” in Quechua. In the late afternoon, we will stay with a local family, learning about their way of life, and savor a traditional dinner before settling in for an overnight stay.

After enjoying a delightful breakfast at the local homestay, our local guide will delve into the fascinating history of this archaeological site. Sufficient time is allocated to explore the remarkable ruins, showcasing sacred temples, farming terraces, storehouses, water channels, and the original Inca reservoir. Subsequently, a 2-hour downhill hike brings us to the local community of Lamay for a vegetarian lunch. From there, we utilize private transportation to reach our retreat center in the Sacred Valley, where we can rest, have a light dinner and relax after the last day of hiking, surrounded by beautiful nature and mountains.

Our sacred San Pedro journey in Peru begins at daybreak, surrounded by the Andes Mountains at our retreat center. Our cherished Q’eros shaman guides us through the preparation of the sacred San Pedro ceremony, starting with the Haywarikuy Ceremony, where we humbly seek permission and guidance from the Sacred Mountains and Mother Earth.

As we partake in the San Pedro medicine, we open our hearts to the gifts of Mother Earth and the vast universe. After this soul-nourishing experience, we will enjoy a light snack together. The tender guidance of the shamanic healer helps us understand the messages within our visions, culminating in a heartfelt Offering to Mother Earth (Pachamama), expressing gratitude and deepening our connection with nature. Concluding this sacred ceremony, we will take our private transportation back to our hotel in Cusco.
